Story
OUR
The COVID-19 pandemic reshaped how we connected, collaborated, and engaged with one another. In 2020, a group of Pasifika women, united through their love of sport, came together to create an online forum.
This space became a platform for a series of ‘Talanoa’, an open and meaningful discussion space focused on collaboration and achieving collective impact.
From these Talanoa, Pasifika Sisters in Sport was born.
We are a charitable trust dedicated to empowering Pasifika women and girls by creating equitable opportunities in sport. Leading with heart, connecting through culture, and guided by traditional knowledge.
Our official launch on 2 September 2024, marked the beginning of our commitment to transforming the sporting landscape for Pasifika women and girls.
Our Mission
To establish a sports advocacy, leadership and mentoring network of Pacific women and girls to elevate, inspire, and create equal opportunities at all levels in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Oceania.
